Mission and approach

CoType Foundry commissioned our team to create a specimen book for the new Aeonik Pro font, an updated refinement of their already successful Aeonik font. Our goal was to showcase the newly added features, introducing the font as an extensive typeface with multiple possibilities and visual extension language (weights, styles, stylistic sets and languages), while maintaining the sculptural expressions as a well established grotesque font. A visual dialogue of contrasts, based on form and functionality, underlines the variety of the stylistic sets and components. A glyphs array raises Aeonik’s (much loved) grotesque “voice”.

Outcome

We delivered two publications, each revealing different aspects and elements. The main book focuses on the multiple possibilities and visual extension language of the font. A visual dialogue of contrasts, based on form and functionality, underlines the variety of the stylistic sets and components. The small book focuses on the glyphs and sculptural expression within Aeonik Pro across Latin, Greek and Cyrillic alphabets.
